December 2nd, 2019 – Woodbridge, ON – TECHCOM™ in support of the Movember Campaign 2019
Over the past 9 years, TECHCOM has collectively raised $90,000 for campaigns geared towards improving the health of men! What started out as a way to build team spirit at the office has become an annual tradition as the team works to build a better path to helping men cope & manage challenges they face both at the mental or physical level.
“If you think small, your world will be small but if you think big, your world will be big and at TECHCOM we like to think big” which is how team captain Todd MacKay summed up his team’s Movember campaign and how he came up with the crazy notion of running (originally his least favorite activity in triathlon he adds!) an average of 5.63km each day (4 marathons!) and raising the substantial sum of $2,500.00 for Movember 2019.
Buoyed by the support of friends, family & colleagues at TECHCOM, the TECHCOM team kept their eyes on the their goal on their way to their best campaign to date. Many expressed they wished they could donate more which was appreciative to hear but the fact they donated is all that really mattered to champion the cause. One TECHCOM team member even received a $2 donation from his 6 year old niece because she wanted to do her part. Big or small… it all counted and the world is a better place when we all come together and do our part.
Todd achieved the two personal goals on November 30th, 2019 – raising $2,525.00 and running 170km with two close friends in his final 10k celebratory run to a local establishment in Liberty Village district of Toronto. Overall, the TECHCOM team raised $6,800.00 which was graciously doubled by TECHCOM for a whopping $13,600.00! … the team’s best year to date!
The TECHCOM Movember team, led by team captain Todd MacKay, look forward to keeping the tradition going in 2020 as they embark on their 10th campaign!
